Open Question: For people who have read holes, Is this a good summary for holes?

Imagine being sent to a juvenile prison, in the middle of the desert, being forced to dig holes, and all of this for a crime you didn’t even commit. That nightmare was a reality for the main character, Stanley Yelnats, in Holes by Louis Sachar. What caused this misfortune for Stanley was basically inherited bad luck. When Stanley’s great grandfather was a kid, a gypsy gave him a pig in exchange for a promise. Stanley’s great grandfather broke the promise, and he believes the gypsy cursed him and his entire family. The juvenile delinquent camp is located in Camp Green Lake, a dry and hot desert. The town of Green Lake once was a wonderful place, not a desert. The lake eventually dried up, so people pretty much abandoned the town. Now, only juvenile delinquents populated the grounds of Green Lake. Kate Barlow was a local teacher when Green Lake was a town where people lived. She had a relationship with an African-American, but that was illegal. A man named Charles Walker wanted to marry Kate, so since she didn’t have the same feelings for him, he gathered the townspeople and burnt down her schoolhouse. When the couple tried to escape, their boat was destroyed half way into the lake and Kate’s boyfriend died. She came back for revenge when the sheriff would not help her, and she was known as Kissin’ Kate Barlow because she kissed people after the killed them. Kate even killed Stanley’s great grandfather When Stanley first got at the camp, he was not like very much. He wanted to be on the good side of X-Ray, the toughest inmate. That clearly became a tough task when he began a friendship with Zero, who wasn’t like very much either. He also had a very hard time pulling his load in hole digging because of the hot and dry climate. It also was very tough digging into such dried up and tough ground. One day, Stanley dug up half of a lipstick tube, with the initials “K.B.” on it. The warden was looking for that same tube, and Stanley knew just how important it was, but Stanley wanted to keep it because of what Kate did to his great grandfather. “K.B.” stood for Kate Barlow. The warden happened to be a descendent of Charles Walker, the man who wanted Kate so bad that he drove her out of the town because she didn’t love him. After Stanley and Zero run away from camp, they find a suitcase with the name Yelnats on it, Stanley’s last name. When Stanley and Zero returned to camp because they nearly died, the warden tried to take the suitcase from Stanley. All of a sudden, Stanley’s lawyer shows up stating that Stanley had been proven innocent. Stanley and Zero were able to leave the camp. The family curse was finally lifted after so many years of bad luck. more

Resolved Question: Poll: Are you aware of the Police car scam by old people?

Police Pick Up One early evening, a police car pulled up in front of grandma Marge's house, and grandpa Stanley gets out. The polite policeman explained that this elderly gentleman said that he was lost in the neighborhood park and couldn't find his way home. "Oh Stanley", said grandma Marge. "You've been going to that park for over thirty years! How could you get lost?" Leaning close to his wife, so that the policeman couldn't hear, grandpa Stanley whispered, "I wasn't lost. I was just too tired to walk home." more

Resolved Question: Should I continue writing this story?

I want to be a writer someday, and I have a story I'm writing. I would like some opinions on it. Here's a quick part of what I've written so far: 427 Grover Lane. V-Wizard Code: 962 Cost: 1 girp That’s what the note said. “So, now what?” I thought. The address on the note had led me to Stanley’s Convenient Store. “Why did the note tell me to go here?” I thought. My stomach rumbled softly. I realized that I had been so caught up in trying to figure out the clue that I hadn’t eaten lunch. There was a vending machine on the side of the store. I fumbled my fingers around in my jeans pocket. Yep, there was a little change in there. Maybe I could grab a snack to last me a little while. I walked over to the vending machine. As I was about to put in a quarter to buy some chips, I saw it. Engraved on the front of the machine was V-Wizard. That was it! This machine came from the V-Wizard Company (which, by the way, stands for Vending Wizard). I had figured out 2 parts of the clue. “But what about the code and the cost?” I thought. I looked at the vending machine. This type of vending machine was the kind that had a keypad with the numbers from 1 through 9. You had to use the keypad to type in the three digit number that corresponds with the snack you want. Maybe that was where I was supposed to type the code. And the cost? 1 girp. “Girp, girp, girp,” I thought. “What’s a girp?” Then I remembered. The small little coin that had been taped onto the clue! Quickly I fished through my pocket and found it. Sure enough, engraved on the back of the coin was girp. I hoped I had interpreted that clue correctly. I quickly slipped the girp into the coin slot and then typed 9-6-2 on the keypad. Nothing seemed to happen to the vending machine. I felt disappointed for a moment. Then, on the back side of the vending machine, the spot just under the Pop tarts, a little part of the wall seemed to push itself backwards. When it stopped moving, the wall had an indentation in it. A ball rolled out of an opening on the side of the gap and then fell out of the gap. I reached my hand into the compartment where snacks came out. I took the ball out. It was pretty big, about the size of a big orange or small grapefruit. I pulled on it from opposite sides and it popped open. Inside was a ping pong ball, a golf ball, and another note. more

Dear Louanne Ellie Mae, I'm writing this letter slow because I know you can't read fast. We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen within 20 miles from your home, so we moved. I won't be able to send you the address because the last West Virginia family that lived here took the house numbers when they moved so they wouldn't have to change their address. This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure it works so well though; last week I put a loan in and pulled the chain and haven't seen them since. The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last week; the first time for three days and the second time for four days. About that coat you wanted me to send you, your Uncle Stanley said it would be to heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. John locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were really worried because it took him two hours to get me and your father out. Your sister had a baby this morning; but I haven't found out what it is yet so I don't know if you are an aunt or an uncle. The baby looks just like your brother. Uncle Ted fell in a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them off playfully and drowned. We had him cremated and he burned for three days. Resolved Question: I need help on a essay onthe book Holes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1?

ok the promt is to describe howw stanley changed throughout the course of the book, and how did zero A.K.A Hector help him. Please correct my punctuation and change my paragraph around so it makes sence please help thnx Luis Trujillo Language Arts Period 7-8 02-16-08 Changes In The Course of Holes In the beginning of the novel Holes, by Louis Sachar, Stanley Yelnats is convicted of stealing a pair of sneakers that were supposed to be auctioned to supply a orphanage with money, but by the end of the novel, partly because of Hector Zeroni, Stanley is found innocent due to the lack of evidence, and Hector admitted he stole the sneakers. In the beginning; Stanley was a normal kid, who’s descendants were supposedly cursed by Madam Zeroni, for his great - great pig stealing grandfather had make a promise to Madam Zeroni that he would carry her to the top of the mountain to let her drink out of the stream of water; soon he forgot and lied. Never did the Yelnats believe in the curse, but one day Stanley was hit by a pair of sneakers falling from the highway above, he believed that this was a sign that his father would complete his invention that would stop foot odor. Soon Stanley was convicted of stealing and was sent to Camp Green Lake. At Camp Green Lake Stanley had meet a boy named Hector Zeroni, who I believe he changed Stanley, because Hector was descendant of Madam Zeroni and Stanley now could break the curse. I think this because at the climax both Stanley and Hector had climbed the big thumb that would hopefully lead them to a stream of water. While climbing the mountain, Stanley would pull Hector with a shovel and soon carrying him to the top of the hill. They did eventually find water and Stanley let Hector rest in silence and drink the water in peace. This is why I believe Stanley Had broke the curse. Now Stanley has changed from thinking he was cursed, to being sure that he wasn’t. Good things had started to happen now. Stanley had found a treasure box full of jewelry and was proven innocent due to lack of evidence. He now was on his way home; along with his friend Hector Zeroni. This is how I think Stanley has changed due to the course of the story Holes. more

Resolved Question: Deodorizing my carpet?

We're buying a house & the previous owners had a puppy... needless to say, there is a faint urine smell. They pulled up the carpet, put down new padding, and then put the old carpet back down (tacky!). They rented a rug doctor & cleaned the carpet. Our inspector pulled up the carpet & there are no urine stains on the sub floor. I went to Stanley Steemer's website & the quote I got was $208 to clean 2 bedrooms, one staircase, and our 12x12 living room. $208?! WAY to much. Is there any way to do it myself? I know Walmart sells this sprinkly stuff that is supposed to get rid of pet odors & it smells pretty good. But I don't know if it would cover the smell of urine. Like I said, it's very faint. We plan on getting a puppy this spring & replacing the carpet next year after we get our house tax rebate thing. more

Resolved Question: Please critique my work? ?

And give me your honest opinions. (: Thanks (: These are 3 paragraphs in between (not an opener) To my surprise, the door was already open. Weird, I thought. My parents always kept this door shut and locked. I slowly pushed the door open. A rusty breeze of gunpowder gently slapped my face. The bizarre smell made me cough as I searched the room I’ve never seen before. The first thing I saw was my parents’ bed. The bed was vacant, the blue covers and white sheets were a mess, and there were gory red stains everywhere. Deeply and gradually, oxygen tried to make its way back and forth through my mouth. Vile sweat drips collected on my forehead. My heart almost skipped a beat. Vibrating with fear, my arms didn‘t keep still. Nausea engulfed me as the sight of four legs lying motionlessly on the other side of the room, to the left of the bed were in sight. Unknown painful emotions swept through me, and warned me that nothing was going to be alright. As I crept closer to the four legs, my own trembled with fear. Amber followed me and stopped in front of the bed to have a little peek. Finally, I forced my eyes to look at my parents’ corpses. I nearly collapsed and joined their homicide as I examined the assassination in horror. Leslie Brooke, my mother, was intensely scratched around her chest and shot near her heart. Her ragged, white nightgown was now a vermilion cloth that covered her deceased body. My eyes deliberately rolled to the left. Stanley Brooke, my stepfather, wasn’t as maimed as my mother, but he was also shot near his heart. He was still in his work clothes, which soaked up the blood. He held a pistol in one hand. In the other hand, there was a green glass bottle that probably contained gin. A pocketknife smothered in red liquid laid between them. My eyes itched as they craved tears. I trembled as I pulled their blanket over them. Thanks :) more

Resolved Question: Red wings vs Flyers..................?

1. Flyers {carter, richards, and gagne are unbelievable} too physical for too be beat by the bruins, pens or canadiens}. 2. Red wings { its still detriot and they still are what they were last year} 3. Devils { they play a good fundamental team play} the playoffs would be too pyshical for them to handle. 4. Sharks { they will advance to the 2nd round } unless they play red wings 1st round there one and done. 5. Chicago {no chance} dont believe me watch flyers own blackhawks tonight at 8:30. Flyers vs Red wings. We may see the best STANLEY-CUP in along time. PS" both of these teams have the best fans in the NHL. Flyers after that horrible 0-3-3 starts since went last 27 games 18-5-4 10-0-2 last 12 at home. Resolved Question: Game 7, Stanley Cup Finals, Down 1 Goal...?

Ok, it's Team NHL vs some russian superleague/aliens/whatever. It's game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and you're down one goal with 45 seconds to go. It's a face off in the offensive end. You can pick any six players (since you pulled the goalie) from the NHL to put on the ice. Who do you choose? for me it's Pavel Datsyuk - wins 56% of his faceoffs and is one of the best set-up men in the league Ilya Kovalchuk - one of the best goal scorers and snipers in the NHL Alexander Ovechkin - do you even need an explanation? this guy is pure beast Evegeni Malkin - yes, I picked him over Crosby, despite his epic fail against the Wings in the playoffs. a big body plus shoot first attitude equals win. Nick Lidstrom - yes, he's getting older but he still has a laser from the blue line and also he an uncanny ability of keeping the puck in the zone Dion Phaneuf - it was a toss up between Gonchar, Zubov, and Phaneuf  more

Resolved Question: My father's portfolio is being managed by a "Senior VP" of Morgan Stanley..?

My father lets this guy manage his money and I guess has been happy with the results for years; he is managing about two million dollars worth. My father has seen that during the current economic times his portfolio has dropped in value about $100,000+ each month for the last few months. My father doesn't get actively involved in the managing of his money and just trusts that the Morgan Stanley guy will do what is right... It is none of my business, but I will inherit someday, so AM curious... Will the money manager take advantage of bargains during the "financial crisis" to pull my father's portfolio value up? and since he is supposed to be good, could the value actually increase after all is said and done? "let me tell you how to become a A VP, SVP, etc at a brokerage firm. " Yeah, I thought about that, that is why I put "Senior VP" in quotes... This is stuff we don't talk about in my father's world, but my wife asks me about OUR future and plans for our child and all. One million has already been put in a trust for me that is being "managed" by this guy... so, while I can't ask about it, I sure wonder as I watch the news... more

Resolved Question: WHY should the sadistic freaks that abused, tortured and murdered Baby P, be allowed anonymity?

Read what happened to this poor innocent angel, and answer me this-why should these evil abusers be able to hide away? I couldn't read the whole thing, I couldn't see the words for tears. I have put in a link to the full story, and a link to the picture of this poor little angel. At last, he can feel no more pain. Haringey council and social services have blood on their hands. EVIL: Mum cried crocodile tears DISTRAUGHT: Witness feared to act By Daniel Sanderson, 16/11/2008 TODAY the News of the World finally reveals the COMPLETE and UNTOLD horror of what really happened to tragic abuse victim Baby P. Our chilling dossier, froma 15-year-old girl who WITNESSED the stepdad's sickening torture, damns bungling social workers who failed to step in. The terrified teenager said: "What went on was sadistic. Social Services have blood on their hands." Horrors The full litany of horrors inflicted on tragic Baby P will chill every decent human being to the core. Sickening new details totally DAMN the little boy’s wicked tormentors and expose the staggering extent of FAILURE by bungling social workers and doctors who let him die alone and terrified in his bloodstained cot at 17 months old. Through the eyes of a key prosecution witness who actually discovered the body we expose the sheer brutality meted out to Baby P by his evil stepdad and covered up by his callous 27-year-old mum. The 15-year-old source lived at the family’s filthy, flea-infested north London council house with human excrement smeared across the walls and a putrid stench of stale urine that choked your throat. Still racked with guilt that she felt too terrified to act at the time, the teenager told how the stepdad: SLICED off the tot’s fingertips with a Stanley knife and wrenched off his little nails with pliers. SMACKED his private parts with a shoe. PRESSED down on his windpipe so hard he turned blue. BIT the tot all over to ‘train’ the family’s vicious dogs to attack. DROPPED him 6ft onto the floor. GRABBED him by the throat and tossed him into his cot, RAMMED a bottle into his mouth so hard it cut his lips. Of all the vile cruelty the girl witnessed, the most horrifying scene was the one that crippled Baby P, leaving him paralysed from the waist down. His warped step- father, a 32-year-old Satanist—convicted of allowing the child to die along with the mum and a paedophile lodger—was watching the Jeremy Kyle TV show with Baby P stretched across his knees. The witness said: “He sat smirking on the sofa, smoking cannabis and playing with Baby P like he was a rag doll. Then I suddenly heard a loud crack that echoed through the house as the baby’s little backbone snapped in half. Monster cut off Baby P's finger tips, pulled out nails with pliers, wrapped him in blankets to dehydrate him, smacked him between the legs with a shoe and trained rottweiler to bite his head “He let out a gut- wrenching scream. It was so loud I got up and went into the garden and put my hands over my ears to block it out.” Incredibly the terrible injury went unnoticed by social workers AND paediatrician Dr Sabah Al Zayyat. The doctor also failed to notice eight fractured ribs and two missing fingernails. The 15-year-old then revealed what finally sealed Baby P’s grim fate in August, 2007—a night of constant crying that disturbed the awful household. She said: “He was wailing and wailing in his cot. He just wouldn’t stop. But he’d been lying in his urine and faeces for days. “Then the stepdad came down and said, ‘I’ll sort it.’ He went into the room, slammed the door shut and suddenly the crying stopped.” the rest of the story: http://www.arrse.co.uk/cpgn2/Forums/viewtopic/p=2257551.html Photos of the beautiful baby: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7732961.stm PHOTOS OF THE 'MOTHER' AND STEP 'FATHER' http://www.dailysquib.co.uk/?c=117&a=1551 more

Resolved Question: What was your tainted but good experience?

This is long, I know. Lol. Let me explain... A few years ago, in November 2003, I went to see Linkin Park in concert. It was a dream come true. I love that band and (cliched, but true) they saved my life. I went, I bought merchandise, I got great photos (that look like they were shot from a mile away - not the 50feet it actually was) and I don't remember another time (aside from my nephews births) that I felt truly happy. However, when I tell people about it, they ask me why it can be such a good experience because of the bad points. The 'bad' points were... - A security guard grabbed me by the back of the chokers I had on. I thought I had done something wrong, until he pointed at a guy coming out of the mosh pit - he had a Stanley knife, with the blade out! So, I was left with a strange pain/choking feeling on my neck for around 24 hours... and the guy with the knife was lost in the crowd. - I was standing at the side of the mosh pit, so I got battered and bruised by the people inside the pit. - Another security guard pulled me by my chokers to tell me to take them off (why he didn't just ask, I'll never know) which added to the afore mentioned pain/choking feeling. - At the end of the show, Rob Bourdon (the drummer) threw some spare drumsticks into the crowd, as is normal for him. One of them hit me in the shin and it stung like a muthaf*cker! (The reason it hit my leg is cause a space opened up in front of me as a lot of parents made their way out of the arena, quickly, to get their cars started). - I didn't even get to keep the afore mentioned drumstick. This big guy picked it up and looked at me like he was challenging me. So... I let him take the offending item. - Chester Bennington (the singer) then threw his cap into the crowd and I caught it! But then, another guy (bigger and bulkier than the one who took the drumstick) snatched it out of my hand and HE also glared at me as if he was expecting an argument. I went home, battered, bruised and aching. But I still see that night as one of the best nights ever! (I even find it funny that I lost out on the drumstick/cap). It just got me wondering... have you ever had a good experience that, despite being 'tainted' in some way, you still find you can't ever think of it as bad?? What was it? more

Resolved Question: What does it take for a Philly sports fan to get the championship he so desires?

Trust me, this is about hockey. All year long I'm saying the Mets will win the NL East and the Phillies would be lucky to get the Wild Card. And I'm not even a Phillies fan. I've even tried jinxing them. For over a decade I've been saying the Eagles will be the next Philadelphia team to win a championship. For over two decades, I've been saying the Sixers were only 12 players away from winning the NBA crown. And since Ed "I Love The 70's" Snider fired Ken Hitchcock, I've been saying that they will never win the Stanley Cup as long as Eddie is running the show. So, I ask, how in Hell (or that dusty wasteland known as the Philadelphia Championship Trophy Case) do the Phillies pull it off while the teams I REALLY care about (not you 76ers) keep ripping my heart out season after season after season? Has my Mojo been reversed? Has Awesome Bill lost touch with sports prognastication? Should I shave my head? Get married? Sell the truck? Put a bust of moi atop the Comcast Building? What's a Flyers/Eagles fan got to do? (NOTE: For those who don't know me, this is an entirely tounge-in-cheek question seeking anything but a serious answer.)A physicist? Maybe that's what I need. And here I thought a psychiatrist was going to help me.....SGOLDPERSON - If me and my ever-growing ass go streaking in Philly all the women would have to go to the ER for laughing fits. and temporary blindness from my untanned hide. But hey, if it works, I'll do it. more

Resolved Question: plz tell me is this part is really from twilight serise??!!?

hey guys look i read this part in the net so i just wanted to know if this part from breaking down cause i read all the three books & this is wasn't one of it.....so just tell me if it's for real or that ppl had just invinted it????!!! thx:D:D It was very late. A veil of clouds covered the moon poorly in the sky. As stealthily as possible, I dashed up to the familiar two-story house on the edge of the forest. Bella shifted around in my arms but didn't wake up as I unlocked the front door. A piece of white paper was taped on the wall just outside the refrigerator. Bells, Alice called and said you were staying over for dinner. I'm over at Billy's. Be home late. -Dad. I smirked as I read the note. Good ol' Alice to the rescue again. In truth, I had sprung Bella from her room this morning while Charlie was at work. We had spent a glorious sunny day at the meadow. Our meadow. I wanted to have a nice conversation with her without Bella begging me to change her. Seeing me sparkle was the perfect distraction. But her warm body lying in my arms kept me occupied as well. Needless to say, we lost track off time. Some time during the run from the meadow, Bella had dozed off, cradled against my chest. I had told Bella that running came naturally, that I didn't even have to think about it. However, with her heated skin pressed against my chest and her arms wrapped around my neck, I had to concentrate a lot more to avoid the trees. Bella seemed to be throwing all of my natural instincts out of tune. Careful not to shake her, I took Bella up the stairs and into her room. I looked at her glowing alarm clock. It read 11:21. As I was placing her on the bed, the sounds of the Cruiser pulling down the street caught my attention. I sighed, thankful that I had got her home in time, but a little put off by Charlie's prompt appearance. Even without trying, he seemed to be depraving me of Bella's presence. I tossed the covers off her and dove into her closet. Chief Swan parked the Cruiser and scurried into the house. I could hear him stumbling in the darkness to find the staircase. Humans were really useless in the dark. He quietly opened the door a crack. She is home. Good. I shouldn't have doubted her. Charlie closed the door with a smile. It seems like she is spending more and more time with the Cullens. Edward in particular. I should make an effort to bond with her next weekend. Charlie had just taken one step into his room when the phone started to ring. He cursed quietly as he hurried down the stairs to catch the phone before it woke Bella. In the dark, he stubbed his toe on the wall beside the sofa. Eyes watering with pain, Charlie picked up the phone. "Hello. Swan residence." Even from Bella's closet, I could hear the other man reply. "Charlie! Good, glad I caught you before you dozed off." Charlie fell to the couch with a sigh. "What's so important that it can't wait for the daylight hours?" "Well…" His voice lowered ominously. "Something's been spotted in the woods. Something big. Mrs. Stanley just called us." "What do you mean, something big?" "Might just have been a wolf or something. She heard howling. But get this; she says it was big as a car. Flattened two trees." Charlie was alert immediately. "Did you call Brookes yet, Collins?" "Nah Chief. Wanted to get your go ahead before we called a hunting party." "Get him now. I'll be there in five." Charlie hung up the phone in a hurry. He slipped on his shoes, gun, and jacket that he had just taken off. I couldn't help but to feel sorry for the guy. He paused on his way out. Might be out till morning if we can't find anything. Better leave Bella a note. Charlie found the note he had left for his daughter this afternoon on the kitchen table were I had left it. He flipped it over. After scribbling a quick message about an emergency and being home later this morning, he ran out the door. I emerged from Bella's closet as the sounds of the Cruiser's engine faded. Bella tumbled fitfully on her bed, mumbling random words in her sleep. I smiled down at her, crawling under the covers. I took her into my arms and she stopped thrashing. Sharing a bed with Bella was quickly becoming one of my top five things to do. She was always so full of life, even when she was unconscious. Bella snuggled her head to my chest. Her breathing evened out as my cold flesh made contact with her cheek. Her mouth opened slightly as she shifted her head. I leaned forward, waiting for her sleep talking to start. "But Mom, I hate Florida. It's too damn hot." She grumbled. "Urgh. Can't we go somewhere else? I'm burning up." I did my best to hold in a chuckled. Bella had the strangest dreams. Then, her leg brushed up against mine. But, instead of her skin, I felt the denim material of her jeans. I mentally smacked myself. No wonder she was hot; she was still wearing her clothes from our trip to the meadow. I sat up in bed, moving the cover more

Resolved Question: Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son's Bracelet... Where is Media?

Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son's Bracelet... Where is Media? Barack Obama played the "me too" game during the Friday debates on September 26 after Senator John McCain mentioned that he was wearing a bracelet with the name of Cpl. Matthew Stanley [1], a resident of New Hampshire and a soldier that lost his life in Iraq in 2006. Obama said that he too had a bracelet. After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek [2] of Merrill, Wisconsin. Shockingly, however, Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son's name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family. Radio host Glenn Moberg of the show "Route 51" [3] asked Mr. Jopek, a man who believes in the efforts in Iraq and is not in favor of Obama's positions on the war, what he and his ex-wife think of Obama continually using their son's name on the campaign trail. Jopek began by saying that his ex-wife was taken aback, even upset, that Obama has made the death of her son a campaign issue. Jopek says his wife gave Obama the bracelet because "she just wanted Mr. Obama to know Ryan's name." Jopek went on to say that "she wasn't looking to turn it into a big media event" and "just wanted it to be something between Barack Obama and herself." Apparently, they were all shocked it became such a big deal. But, he also said that his ex-wife has refused further interviews on the matter and that she wanted Obama to stop wearing the reminder of her son's sacrifice that he keeps turning into a campaign soundbyte. This begins at about 10 minutes into the radio program. (Download radio show HERE [4]) TRANSCRIPT Brian Jopek: Because of some of the negative feedback she's gotten on the Internet, you know Internet blogs, you know people accusing her of... or accusing Obama of trying to get votes doing it... and that sort of thing. Radio Host Moberg: Yeah Jopek: She has turned down any subsequent interviews with the media because she just didn't want it to get turned into something that it wasn't. She had told me in an email that she had asked, actually asked Mr. Obama to not wear the bracelet any more at any of his public appearances. Which I don't think he's... Moberg: It has been a while since he's brought it up. Jopek: Right. But, the other night I was watching the news and he was on, uh, speaking somewhere and he was still wearing it on his right wrist. I could see it on his right wrist. So, that's his own choice. I mean that's something Barack Obama, that's a choice that he continues to wear it despite Tracy asking him not to... Because she is a Barack Obama supporter and she didn't want to do anything to sabotage his campaign, so, if he's still wearing the bracelet then, uh, that of course is entirely up to him. Moberg: Maybe there's a difference between wearing it and making a point to bring it up in your speeches? Even the snow job that the radio host tried to pull off to cover for Barack's refusing the wishes of the family of the KIA soldier who's bracelet he wears doesn't pass the smell test. After all, now that Obama has made it a big point in the debates, I guess the silent observance of Sgt. Jopek is no longer so silent and Obama is back to exploiting the death of a soldier even when he was asked NOT to do so by that soldier's parents. To pile insult onto injury here, the Mother doesn't even want to force the issue of telling Obama to stop exploiting her son because she wants to see him win the election. Obama is not only taking advantage of this brave soldier's death, he is taking advantage of the good wishes of the man's Mother who doesn't want to hurt the campaign. This all makes Obama look pretty calculating and blood chillingly callous, doesn't it? And, why is the media not playing this story? The radio show on which this interview is heard happened all the way back in March. How is it the media missed this? Is it because they are also don't want to hurt Obama's campaign? I can only say that if the parents of the soldier whose bracelet John McCain is wearing had said in public that they want him to stop wearing their son's bracelet the news would have been coast to coast, and wall to wall, not just ignored in Madison, Wisconsin. Obama's use of this soldier that fell in the line of duty is tainted by his ambition and callousness. And the media is letting him get away with it. (H/T D. Resolved Question: Will you read this extract from my novel? I want to know if it makes sense/ is written okay.?

Polakowski Polakowski Polakowski Polakowski I wrote her name slowly, pressing the nib down hard; as I finished I simply admired each dip and each curve. It was like I was the pen swooping and gliding for her. I let the pen fall from my hand, as I sighed with self-pity. Her long blonde hair is monumental. A blade lay on the table winking at me. I find self-harm disturbing and intriguing at the same time. People with these scars have substance; they leave you thinking about why so deeply, that you just want to know more. I picked up the Stanley knife, and ran the tip over my arm, hypnotised by the reflection that it held. The thought of cutting myself brought adrenaline to the surface. “Show me your wrists,” she is asking dominantly, driving through my eyes with hers. I shuffle down my sleeves. Taking my arms with hers, she touches me palm to palm, then slides hers up my arm. I wince as brushes past my wounds. Her eyes are now imploring wells, but her voice remains strong. “Why did you do this?” “Because I need to keep denying.” I am saying, “You’re beauty reminds me of the truth.” She holds me in her arms and tells me that it is okay to cry, it is okay to let everything out, and that she would be there with me to dry the tears. She takes her hand guiding me through, teaching me. She spreads my legs and pulls me up onto her, I feel her inside of me and I begin to shiver. I am complete. Dark, deep fantasies are the ones that I really get lost in, where you cling to people for support, weeping. Openness was something that I desired; I grew up in a family where everything was “perfect”. And that is how it appeared, but that is because we never talked about issues such as emotions or sex. It was from eleven when I began to notice this. I never had any of the talks that teenagers were supposed to have. My mother bought me a book on periods, I was angry that she hadn’t told me about them herself. I threw the book around my room, kicking it not wanting to look at it. It was from then when I began to feel more uncomfortable being open about how I felt towards her, crying in front of her, talking to her. It all seemed to change so quickly, for an eleven year old I did not notice, but now it seems odd. I always wondered if it was her or me that had changed, but because I was growing up, I believed that it was my fault. My mother will never stop loving me, but it is like she does not know how to treat me anymore. She would shelter me, shelter me for comfort, even saying, “I love you” or touching each other is hard. Perhaps that is why I am like this, physical and emotional intimacy was void from my mother. I am trying to fill that gap with sex, to find the intimacy that was lacking.  more

Resolved Question: The Shining (1980) What happend to jack at the end of the movie?

Ok so I’ve just finished watching Stanley Kubrick's The Shinning with my girl and I’m a little confused with what happened at the end. For those of you that don’t remember. When jack finally freezes to death in the overlook's hedge maze the camera fades out and then you get a slow zoom in to an old photograph that’s hanging with some others on a wall back in the hotel. In the photo you see Jack in front centre of a huge crowd of people at the Gold Ball. At the bottom of the photograph it says it was taken on july 4th 1921. I know some people have said they think it’s a reincarnation thing. Jack gets reincarnated every time he dies and gets pulled back to the overlook again and again. Which is why when he goes to the interview he says he feels like he’s been there before and saying it’s almost like he knows what’s around every corner. Also it may explain why Mr Grady tells jack in the gold ball that he’s always been the caretaker. I think I’m more with the school of thought that say Jack wasn’t reincarnated he was just consumed by the overlook and added to the photograph. Along with anyone else who takes the unfortunate post of the caretaker of the over look. The thing with the de ja vu and knowing what was around the corner could be a hint of the shinning that jack had. I mean Danny his son has the shinning, who’s to say Jack didn’t have a little himself. Would explain how jack saw the ghosts as well as Danny. Anyways i’m interested to know what your theories are guys : ).  more

Resolved Question: At what point does self-injury become 'serious', or more extreme than 'normal' self harm?

I'm 16 and I started seeing my therapist for self harm when I was 13. Back then I just did very superficial self harm, scratching/gouging small areas of skin, pulling out my eyelashes, biting my lips till they bled and occasionally bruising/cutting myself. I refused to show anyone my injuries because I was ashamed, and I only showed my therapist some minor scratches and cuts when I initially saw him. I didn't self harm very often between the ages of 14 and 15, but since I turned 16 this year, the SI got loads worse. Now it's got to the stage where I'm worried for my own safety. I slash at my arms, legs and stomach with razors, put ciggies out on my hands, I've carved a design into my hipbone, and even (on one occasion) stabbed 4 needles through my cheek into my mouth. I do the more 'extreme' things impulsively but I cut my arm/legs with a stanley knife about 20 times every day. It makes me feel less anxious. In the last couple of weeks I've stopped trying to avoid 'danger areas' on my arms, and I've been slashing away at any veins I can see on my arm. Now as I'm typing, blood is running down my arm from a deep cut I made about 20 mins ago on the blue bit on the inside of my elbow. I've told my therapist that I'm harming more and that it's got worse, but he hasn't ever asked to SEE it and I'm too shy to make him look. I'm worried that if he knew how much worse it has got since I was 13 he'd be taking more action to help me stop than he is now. I have suicidal thoughts daily, and I'm depressed, even though I've been on prozac for 3 months now. Is what I'm doing more serious/dangerous than 'normal, harmless' self harm like I was doing when I was 13? If I showed him what's been happening, what would he do? more

Resolved Question: Is "ALL WELL" with the banking system? I think not? Your thoughts?

1. Paulson appears on Face The Nation and says "Our banking system is a safe and a sound one." If the banking system was safe and sound, everyone would know it (or at least think it). There would be no need to say it. 2. Paulson says the list of troubled banks "is a very manageable situation". The reality is there are 90 banks on the list of problem banks. Indymac was not one of them until a month before it collapsed. How many other banks will magically appear on the list a month before they collapse? 3. In a Northern Rock moment, depositors at Indymac pull out their cash. Police had to be called in to ensure order. 4. Washington Mutual (WM), another troubled bank, refused to honor Indymac cashier's checks. The irony is it makes no sense for customers to pull insured deposits out of Indymac after it went into receivership. The second irony is the last place one would want to put those funds would be Washington Mutual. Eventually Washington Mutual decided it would take those checks but with an 8 week hold. Will Washington Mutual even be around 8 weeks from now? 5. Paulson asked for "Congressional authority to buy unlimited stakes in and lend to Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE)" just days after he said "Financial Institutions Must Be Allowed To Fail". Obviously Paulson is reporting from the 5th dimension. In some alternate universe, his statements just might make sense. 6. Former Fed Governor William Poole says "Fannie Mae, Freddie Losses Makes Them Insolvent". 7. Paulson says Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are "essential" because they represent the only "functioning" part of the home loan market. The firms own or guarantee about half of the $12 trillion in U.S. mortgages. Is it possible to have a sound banking system when the only "functioning" part of the mortgage market is insolvent? 8. Bernanke testified before Congress on monetary policy but did not comment on either money supply or interest rates. The word "money" did not appear at all in his testimony. The only time "interest rate" appeared in his testimony was in relation to consumer credit card rates. How can you have any reasonable economic policy when the Fed chairman is scared half to death to discuss interest rates and money supply? 9. The SEC issued a protective order to protect those most responsible for naked short selling. As long as the investment banks and brokers were making money engaging in naked shorting of stocks, there was no problem. However, when the bears began using the tactic against the big financials, it became time to selectively enforce the existing regulation. 10. The Fed takes emergency actions twice during options expirations week in regards to the discount window and rate cuts. 11. The SEC takes emergency action during options expirations week regarding short sales. 12. The Fed has implemented an alphabet soup of pawn shop lending facilities whereby the Fed accepts garbage as collateral in exchange for treasuries. Those new Fed lending facilities are called the Term Auction Facility (TAF), the Term Security Lending Facility (TSLF), and the Primary Dealer Credit Facility (PDCF). 13. Citigroup (C), Lehman (LEH), Morgan Stanley(MS), Goldman Sachs (GS) and Merrill Lynch (MER) all have a huge percentage of level 3 assets. Level 3 assets are commonly known as "marked to fantasy" assets. In other words, the value of those assets is significantly if not ridiculously overvalued in comparison to what those assets would fetch on the open market. It is debatable if any of the above firms survive in their present form. Some may not survive in any form. 14. Bernanke openly solicits private equity firms to invest in banks. Is this even close to a remotely normal action for Fed chairman to take? 15. Bear Stearns was taken over by JPMorgan (JPM) days after insuring investors it had plenty of capital. Fears are high that Lehman will suffer the same fate. Worse yet, the Fed had to guarantee the shotgun marriage between Bear Stearns and JP Morgan by providing as much as $30 billion in capital. JPMorgan is responsible for only the first 1/2 billion. Taxpayers are on the hook for all the rest. Was this a legal action for the Fed to take? Does the Fed care? 16. Citigroup needed a cash injection from Abu Dhabi and a second one elsewhere. Then after announcing it would not need more capital is raising still more. The latest news is Citigroup will sell $500 billion in assets. To who? At what price? 17. Merrill Lynch raised $6.6 billion in capital from Kuwait Mizuho, announced it did not need to raise more capital, then raised more capital a few week later. 18. Morgan Stanley sold a 9.9% equity stake to China International Corp. CEO John Mack compensated by not taking his bonus. How generous. Morgan Stanley fell from $72 to $37. Did CEO John Mack deserve a paycheck at all? 19. Bank of America (BAC) agreed to take over Countywide Financial (CFC) and twice announced Countrywide will add profits to B of A. Inquiring minds were asking "How the hell can Countrywide add to Bank of America earnings?" Here's how. Bank of America just announced it will not guarantee $38.1 billion in Countrywide debt. Questions over "Fraudulent Conveyance" are now surfacing. 20. Washington Mutual agreed to a death spiral cash infusion of $7 billion accepting an offer at $8.75 when the stock was over $13 at the time. Washington Mutual has since fallen in waterfall fashion from $40 and is now trading near $5.00 after a huge rally. 21. Shares of Ambac (ABK) fell from $90 to $2.50. Shares of MBIA (MBI) fell from $70 to $5. Sadly, the top three rating agencies kept their rating on the pair at AAA nearly all the way down. No one can believe anything the government sponsored rating agencies say. 22. In a panic set of moves, the Fed slashed interest rates from 5.25% to 2%. This was the fastest, steepest drop on record. Ironically, the Fed chairman spoke of inflation concerns the entire drop down. Bernanke clearly cannot tell the truth. He does not have to. Actions speak louder than words. 23. FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair said the FDIC is looking for ways to shore up its depleted deposit fund, including charging higher premiums on riskier brokered deposits. 24. There is roughly $6.84 Trillion in bank deposits. $2.60 Trillion of that is uninsured. There is only $53 billion in FDIC insurance to cover $6.84 Trillion in bank deposits. Indymac will eat up roughly $8 billion of that. 25. Of the $6.84 Trillion in bank deposits, the total cash on hand at banks is a mere $273.7 Billion. Where is the rest of the loot? The answer is in off balance sheet SIVs, imploding commercial real estate deals, Alt-A liar loans, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bonds, toggle bonds where debt is amazingly paid back with more debt, and all sorts of other silly (and arguably fraudulent) financial wizardry schemes that have bank and brokerage firms leveraged at 30-1 or more. Those loans cannot be paid back. What cannot be paid back will be defaulted on. If you did not know it before, you do now. The entire US banking system is insolvent.I have my garden, well stocked pantry sheld, outdoor stove, fire wood and propone burners. This will get worse...much much worse........good luck to all!!....be prepared more

Resolved Question: Has anyone else ever felt like your good attitude only allowed people to walk over you?

I do & sometimes I’ll ask myself, “Is it worth being a good girl?” BTW, I'm 21. You see I’m a kind & generous person, but I think people sometimes take advantage of that (especially since I have a hard time saying no to those I love & care about). In fact, I’m almost like Stanley Ipkiss (without the mask). I let people walk all over me. Why? Because I’m a sweet person who’s always willing to help somebody out…and who will never do anything about it. There have been times when people (my stepdad for example) made me so irritated that I REALLY wanted to give them a piece of my mind (or at least jump kick them in the face, lol), but due to the fact that I try to be good person I don’t. Plus, I don’t want to be attacked by the guilt that I might have hurt their feelings. Sometimes as much as I want to tell my stepdad off, I have to let it go because I don’t want to feel like I’m breaking the ten-commandment rule, “Honor thy mother & thy father.” However, when I sometimes refuse to do what he asked (not because I’m rebellious, but because I felt it was unnecessary), I do feel a bit guilty that I am breaking the commandment. While my good attitude is always great to have in public; however, at home I feel it has done nothing but allowed some of my family members to easily say or get anything they please that I almost want to pull my hair out. What should I do?Now those in my family, whom I’ve help, indeed thank me, but when it comes to some problems (that anybody can overcome with common sense) I feel like they don’t even bother to figure it out & do it themselves. Instead they always get me & that gets annoying, but since I’m a good person I’ll do it. Help me… :( more

Resolved Question: Would anyone want to see a KHL NHL Championship series?

This would be a nice promotion to hockey around the world. Now that the KHL is getting to be huge, I would like to atleast see the Stanley Cup Champions go up against the Gagarin Cup Champions. Or maybe the champions of different leagues around the world, you know? Like how soccer has its Champions Leagues except here, it's the champions from all over the world, or atleast from the most popular leagues. I don't know it's a stretch because Americans already don't like hockey, pulling through to international tournaments will further damage it. But I'd like to see it no? .. Thoughts? more

Resolved Question: Repost: Why are my toddlers so intollerant in the morning?

I have twin boys, they turned 2 years old in February. I went back to work in January, so they have been on the same schedule for 6 months now and it seems to have gotten harder rather than easier. One more than the other (Sammy) is exceptionally hard to get ready for day care. He struggles and wiggles and screams when I try to get him dressed and keeps pulling his socks and shoes off. I always have a cup of milk ready for them when they get up and he never wants the cup I give him. Even if I let him choose the cup, he then wants the one I give to his brother. His brother (Stanley) pulls this stuff every now and then, but Sammy does it every single morning. It's really beginning to wear on me. I've tried to let him pick out his out fit the night before to make getting dressed funner, or I'll try to get them to sing songs with me while I dress them, I've tried dressing them as soon as they wake up or after they've been running around a bit (right away is easier!)....I am looking for advise or reference to places I can find advise. FYI, their father is at work already at this time, they get PLENTY of attention and play time in the evenings, their daycare is NOT strangers (people we've known for a long time) and their cups don't have different drinks in them....these were among the answers I had already received more

I've tried to let him pick out his out fit the night before to make getting dressed funner, or I'll try to get them to sing songs with me while I dress them, I've tried dressing them as soon as they wake up or after they've been running around a bit (right away is easier!)....I am wondering if anyone has any advise to share or can reference any good place to read up on this sort of problem....thanks! more

Resolved Question: Can I wash my couch cushions in the washing machine?

I'm talking about the interior cushion - I've already pulled off and washed the covers, but cannot find any instructions on the foam or whatever interior actual cushion. These are pretty dirty from drink spills and such - while I know they won't be seen, I have a feeling they probably retain odor, dirt, dust mites, etc. - I think I'd just feel better having them washed without having to pay Stanley Steemer to come in and do it. Do you think I could put them in an industrial washer at the laundrymat on a delicate and/or soak cycle then a low dry? Oh, and these interior pieces aren't just foam - they're covered in a material similar to a mattress pad all the way around - I think that might help keep the shape and integrity, but it's just a guess. Totally open to input! more

Resolved Question: Im having trouble getting the side rail down for the crib?

Its From Stanley Furniture Company. Its called Serenity Crib. Its a very nice slay bead style crib. Retail value of $900 us. But for the life of me I can not get the side rail down. your supposed to push on the bottom, and pull up all the way. But it wont work. And most of all its killing my leg when I push. I know the babies not here yet but still, this is a problem. We got the crib from a friend that my husband works with. We dont think we will be able to afford to buy a crib our self. So I have no idea what to do. Is there an easier way to get it down?Yea, we have a bassinett. Ugh (spelling) But Im just way to short to just leave the crib rail up when we do need it. So Im soo lost.My husband told me when I got it that I would get used to it. But Well I have tried and tried, and Im getting no where. lol more

Resolved Question: Marian Hossa to remain a Pittsburgh Penguin?

Hossa, 29, is believed to be seeking a deal for five years or more. He expects to command no less than $8 million in annual salary on the open market. However, he said after the Stanley Cup final that he would "take less to play on a good team." The Penguins, a Cup finalist, plan to test that claim. Their offer is likely to be worth nearly $50 million over seven years - a marginal raise on his 2007-08 salary of $7 million. ---- The Penguins would pay him MORE than what he's making now? Do you think this is true? Can the Penguins pull it off? http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/s_572725.htmlPaul N.-- Malkin already stated that he wants to stay, and is looking to sign a deal soon, saying he will take less than Crosby, which is 8.7 Mill. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/penguins/s_572532.html And we're losing plenty of free agents over the summer, opening up plenty of money. If you read the article, Hossa is the Penguins main priority. And the Penguins were in bankruptcy in 1999, that's recent? more

Resolved Question: How can I get my HP Photosmart 3180 Printer to stop smudging wedding invite enclosures?

my wife is pulling her hair out and I can't be of good help on my own. It prints ok at first, then they become smudged. Is there a setting she should try for better results? The paper is from Paper Source, it is not exactly glossy paper...it hasmore of a shimmery look and feel to it. What might be the best paper selection, print quality, etc? I spent much of the Stanley Cup finals game last evening trying to help her out, and I'm still baffled. Thanks much! more

Resolved Question: Who will win the Stanley Cup? Finals matchup?

A week ago I thought the Sharks. I am a Flyers fan, so I am pulling for Roenick, but it looks like they ran into a Calgary team that plays like the one went to the finals a few years back. Being a Flyers fan, I have to be honest and say they can't beat the Canadiens in the second round. I'll go with Pittsburgh vs. Detroit...with Detroit winning. Damn, sometimes reality sucks more

Resolved Question: Did anyone watch CBC's Stanley cup preview show with Mclean and Bowman last night?

At the beginning Mclean is referring to the only 2 coaches in the playoffs who have won a cup, Keenan and Lemaire. Then he mentions the 14 who have not. I backed up and listened again but that is what he said. I guess my question is did the Ducks pull a Lou and change coaches on me? I count 3 with Randy Carlyle. more

Resolved Question: What's your ideal way for your team to win the Cup?

If you could write the plot for your team to win the Stanley Cup, how would it all come down? Who would you beat on your way to the Finals, how would you do it, who would score the Cup-clinching goal in the final game, etc? Give me your dream scenarios on how your team would pull it all off.I'd like to see them take on the Sharks in the1st round, beat them in 6. Hat tricks by both Sakic ans Stastny.1 shutout by Theo. And then we take on the reigning champs, the Ducks. We'd beat them in 6 also, With Wolski having 15 points in those six games. And then of course we'd take on the Wings in the WCF.There would be a lot of, even a goalie fight between Hasek and Theo.Even with the tight D, we'd pull off a sweep. And then, I'd like to take on the Habs in the Finals.Theo would be great, Foppa and Sakic would score a combined 17 goals in six games. It'd go to a game 7, and it would be 0-0 all through reg.In the third OT, Theo would throw his back out off whack.Budaj would have to come in and take over. The game would go to 6th OT, with great chances by both teams. And then, at the beginning of the 7th OT, there would be a scrum down in our end, Budaj would make several great saves, and then he sees Laperrire open up ice. He makes the home run pass, and Lappy scores on the breakaway. more

Resolved Question: Who's gonna win the Stanley Cup?

To make this legit, For those of you whose teams are searching for caddies already, which playoff team will you be rooting for?aww man... I guess it was too much of a stretch to get you all... Homes: I know, not having your team in teh playoffs sucks, luckily the only recent year that the Sharks didn't make it my #2, the Canucks, made it. Resolved Question: Understanding the NHL draft lottery? LITY?

Please tell me if this makes sense to you- So, you are a fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning or the Los Angeles Kings and the only race your teams are in are the race for the bottom of the cellar, the race to get that next superstar that will put your team back into contention. There will be no hoisting Lord Stanley this year and you can put that parade route on hold. As we know, with the advent of the NHL entry draft lottery, finishing last however, does not ensure that you will get that 1st overall pick. Take last year for instance where the Chicago Blackhawks had only an 8.1% chance of getting number 1 but they managed to get the right concoction of numbers to pull off the feat. We all know the rest of the story, they drafted Patrick Kane, the young American forward who is the front runner for the Calder Memorial Trophy, given out to the top rookie. So, to understand how these formulas work and calculate what your team's chances are, we have to delve deeper. All 14 teams who miss the play-offs are entered into the lottery in order from worst to first but the teams selected in the lottery may not move up more than four postions in the draft order. Therefore, only the teams finishing in the bottom 5 have a possibility of picking 1st overall. Also, teams can move down from their position in the order by no more than 1 spot. So, under this weighted system, the last place team will have a 25% chance of getting the first overall pick and can pick no lower than 2nd overall. Fourteen balls, numbered one to fourteen are put into a lottery machine and four of the balls are drawn, forming a series of numbers. A probablity chart is than used that divides the possible combinations among the 14 non-play-off teams. The four numbers are compared to the probability chart to determine which team has that number combination. After the team selected moves up, the remainder of the teams are adjusted by one with teams moving up or down one slot to accommodate the winner, assuming that they were not originally in that slot. Here is a chart to better help you understand- 30th........... 25.0% (250 combinations) 29th........... 18.8% (188 combinations) 28th........... 14.2% (142 combinations) 27th........... 10.7% (107 combinations) 26th.............8.1% (81 combinations) 25th.............6.2% (62 combinations) 24th.............4.7% (47 combinations) 23rd.............3.6% (36 combinations) 22nd............ 2.7% (27 combinations) 21st.............2.1% (21 combinations) 20th.............1.5% (15 combinations) 19th.............1.1% (11 combinations) 18th.............0.8% (8 combinations) 17th.............0.5% (5 combinations) So, since we know the last place team will get either the #1 overall or the #2 overall, it works out that they have a 48.2% chance of picking 1st compared to their 51.8% chance of picking 2nd. Also, the best non-playoff team has a .5% chance of picking 10th and a 95.5% chance of picking 14th.Laying Low, Petza, Hockey Lover and Matt.... You guys all find that too confusing? What part don't you understand??.....I am trying to make the article simplistic enough for the average fan, it would seem I have failed then? Back to the drawing board...LOL.. Thanks for the input.Iceman and Spaceboy....you guys "get it" then?LITY- Thank you very much for that input. Haley...well, aren't you going soft...LOL more
